Employees are allowed to use the PTO available at the beginning of each pay period the PTO is taken. If you are not able to add PTO you see available, it is likely because you have future PTO approved and the time you have available now is needed to cover that request. Because Extra Space does not allow negative PTO balances, Workday does not allow time off requests that will give an employee a negative balance at the time the request is made or in the future.
